SPECIFIC SEGMENTAL CORRECTION VS CONVENTIONAL REHAB
The vast majority of physiotherapy practices operate within the framework of conventional rehabilitation. This model is principally concerned with symptomatic management, with clinical goals that typically include:
(i) reducing muscular spasm,
(ii) enhancing joint range of motion, and
(iii) alleviating pain.
While these aims are undoubtedly important, and many practices deliver effective short-term relief, this conventional approach often fails to address the underlying biomechanical dysfunctions responsible for recurring or persistent symptoms.

At Corrective Spinal Rehab, our focus is fundamentally different. We specialise in Specific Segmental Correction, a method grounded in structural rehabilitation, designed to identify and correct segmental dysfunctions within the spine that may be contributing to a wide range of clinical presentations.
To illustrate this principle, imagine a vehicle whose structural frame has been bent or misaligned. As a result of this distortion, secondary issues begin to emerge:
(i) uneven tyre wear,
(ii) the steering pulling in one direction, and
(iii) persistent vibrations while driving.
Though one could repeatedly attempt to manage each of these secondary problems, they will inevitably recur unless the structural foundation the frame is corrected. Repairing only the surface-level manifestations is neither efficient nor sustainable.
The same concept applies to the human body. The spine serves as the foundational framework. When structural abnormalities exist such as segmental dysfunctions they may give rise to a cascade of secondary symptoms affecting both musculoskeletal and neurological systems.
At Corrective , we believe it is clinically more effective to begin with identifying and correcting structural dysfunctions of the spine.
By restoring proper spinal alignment and segmental function, we target the root cause of many recurring conditions, rather than continually managing their symptoms. This is the essence of our approach and it’s what sets us apart from conventional rehabilitation practices.
